(KFVS) -

Good morning! It’s Friday, September 25, 2015.

It’ll be noticeably cool as you walk out the door this morning, so the kiddos may need a light jacket at the bus stop. Bryan’s McCormick’s First Alert Forecast shows a nice warmup for your afternoon and evening plans, though with more clouds moving in as the day continues. Isolated showers may affect some Heartland Football Friday games, especially for western Kentucky and Tennessee.

Here are the big stories KFVS12 is working on for you this morning:

BREAKING OVERNIGHT: Tornado in South Carolina: We are getting new pictures in of the damage caused by a suspected tornado near Charleston.

BBQ Competitions Abound in the Heartland: Praise the Lard is hitting its stride in the Barbecue Capitol of Illinois. Carly O'Keefe is live in Murphysboro giving us the heads up on the big competition there.  And crowds will enjoy more than 80,000 pound of pork and chicken along the Ohio River for BBQ on the River in Paducah.

Missouri Girl Rescued: The 6-year-old fell in a trench, and it took hours to get her out.

Lines Expected for iPhone 6S Release: One woman used a robot to make sure they get her hands onto a phone.

The Pope Takes Manhattan: He’ll speak before the U.N. and celebrate Mass at Madison Square Garden.

Plus we have a preview of Heartland Football Friday, and more top headlines you need to know to start your day.
