Public gets their chance to stop prescription drug abuse

(KFVS) -

The National Prescription Drug Take-Back is a great opportunity to keep the drugs out of the wrong hands.

Prescription drug abuse is a growing problem in America.

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, in 2010, about 1 in 12 high school seniors reported that they used the prescription pain reliever Vicodin for non-medical reasons.

The majority of those abused pills come from family or friends, and that includes home medicine cabinets.

The National Drug Take Back is Saturday, September 26th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
