500 women attend Poplar Bluff women's conference

POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) -

About 500 women came together for the 28th annual "Women Aware" conference at the Black River Coliseum in Poplar Bluff.  

Attendees said it's a great opportunity for women from around the region to network with each other and learn from each other. Breakout sessions covered a range of topics from business skills to gardening to KFVS’ Kadee Brosseau's session on life hacks.

Organizers say it’s a fun and informative event for women of all ages and walks of life.

"There's nothing like it in the area. When you come to this event it is a day full of motivation. We have about 28 breakout session, 70 booth holders out here with all types of different products and services. Sometimes were so busy that we only see women in our area one-time year at this event so it's a great networking opportunity,” Board Member Janet McNece said.

McNece said the event continues to grow each and every year.

The event ended with the keynote speaker, Carine McCandless- who is a well-known entrepreneur, activist, and mother.
