MSHP sending more troopers to patrol off-road park during 'Trucks Gone Wild'

BUTLER COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

After a death, water pollution and property damage, more troopers are patrolling the area around Bricks Off Road Park.

This comes as the area kicks off its "Trucks Gone Wild" event on Thursday, Sept. 24.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, there will 11 extra troopers in the area. Five additional will be assigned to the event every day for the week and six will be assigned on Friday and Saturday to patrol.

During the 2014 event, one person died in a car crash near the park.

Also, area rivers and streams were polluted from human waste and vehicles in the water, as well as properties outside of the grounds were damaged.
