Demolition in Dutchtown, MO begins

DUTCHTOWN, MO (KFVS) -

Demolition began in Dutchtown, Missouri on Monday, Sept. 21.

Homeowners there accepted a buyout earlier in 2015.

The city received more than $200,000 to buy properties damaged during the flooding of 2011. That's on top of nearly $800,000 the community got from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to help with the buyout project.

We're told 11 of the 15 eligible homes decided to take the deal back in June. They then had 90 days to vacate.
