MASSAC COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

The Massac County Sheriff's Office will partner with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration to host the annual Drug Take Back day.

People in the area are encouraged to drop off unused or outdated medication so it can be disposed of properly.

A drop off box is located in the lobby of the Massac County Sheriff's Office and is available 24 hours a day.

While the DEA sponsors this program twice a year, the office is open for people to drop off old medications all day, any day.

The Massac County Sheriff's Office reports it already has over 300 pounds of medication ready to send to the DEA.
