Perry Co. School District 32 accepting substitute teacher applications

PERRY COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Perry County School District 32 is once again accepting substitute teacher applications, according to Superintendent Scott Ireland.

To qualify as a substitute teacher, candidates must have completed 60 hours or more of college credit (in any discipline), and have passed a background check (There is a $15 fee for background check).

Candidates should have a passion for working with youth. It pays $80 per school day.

"We're accepting applications at this time for substitutes for both daily assignments, and long term sub positions," Ireland explained. "This is an ideal position for college students, retired professionals, and those who wish to work part time."

Assistant Superintendent Jeanie White encourages college students who wish to enter the education field to apply.

"This is a great way to gain classroom experience," White said. "You can sub at a variety of levels so you can find out what age students you most enjoy working with, and learn the terminology and technology that can give you an advantage over other candidates after graduation."

The substitute application process is completed online. Application, background check form, and other required forms can be found by clicking here.
