Charleston, MO man arrested in connection with Aug. shooting investigation

CHARLESTON, MO (KFVS) -

A man has been arrested in connection with an August shooting investigation in Charleston, Missouri.

Demetrion Owens, 23, of Charleston, Mo., was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and armed criminal action.

According to the Charleston Department of Public Safety, on Aug. 28 they investigated a report of gun shots near the intersection of West Marshall and Elm Streets.

During the investigation, officers recovered numerous shell casings from the road, and said a vehicle, a business, a home and a church had all been hit by stray bullets.

According to DPS, information indicated Owens was one of the alleged shooters and an arrest warrant was issued.

Owens was arrested at noon on Sept. 18. He is currently in the Mississippi County Jail on a $200,000 cash only bond.
