Paducah police investigate string of vehicle break-ins

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

Paducah police are asking for information after six vehicle break-ins in a 24-hour period.

Thursday around 10 a.m., three women reported their car windows were broken while parked at the First Baptist Church at 2890 Broadway. A purse was stolen from one vehicle, and a bag with workout clothes was stolen from a second. Nothing was stolen from the third vehicle.

Then, at 1:13 p.m. Thursday, a woman reported her purse was stolen from her car while it was parked at Keiler Park at 2900 Broadway between 9-10 a.m.

At 7:36 p.m. Thursday, an employee of Baptist Health Paducah reported her purse was stolen from her car in the parking garage while she was at work, sometime between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Around 7 a.m. Friday, an employee of Little Disciples Child Care Center at 135 Memorial Drive reported someone broke the window of her car and took her purse.

Police remind people to not leave anything in their vehicles. Lock items of value in the trunk or, at a minimum, cover them so they cannot be seen by passers-by.

Anyone with information about these or any other crimes is asked to call the Paducah Police Department at 270/444-8550 or Crime Stoppers at 443-TELL.

Tipsters also may access the online tip form through the City of Paducah website at http://paducahky.gov/paducah/west-ky-crime-stoppers. Information leading to an arrest or indictment may result in a reward of up to $1,000.
