Three Rivers College to receive nearly $2 million for upgrades

Gov. Jay Nixon today visited Three Rivers College Friday to announce nearly $2 million in improvements and renovations.

The $1,900,868 will make upgrades to electrical, HVAC, and lighting systems in the Westover Classroom Building, Crisp Technology Center, Tinnin Center, Education Annex Building, and the Academic Resource Commons. Repairs and improvements will also be made to building exteriors and roofs, as well as parking lots, sidewalks, lighting throughout campus.

The money comes from Building Affordability which is a component of Build Missouri. The capital improvements initiative set to fund nearly 500 projects across the state through bond proceeds and other sources.

Build Missouri includes bond proceeds for repairs and renovations at state facilities, veterans homes, state parks and higher education campuses, and for the completion of a new state-of-the-art mental hospital in Fulton. It also includes non-bonding sources for other projects, including conservation areas, highway patrol facilities, and other facilities.

The Building Affordability initiative is investing $200 million in higher education campuses throughout the state, according to the governor's office.
