(KFVS) -

Time for some golden oldies.

These were the songs playing on the radio this week in 1960.

Billboard Magazine's Hot 100  had Sam Cook at number five with  Chain Gang--a song that featured the unmistakable sound of sledgehammers banging on hard steel.

A novelty song about the Battle of Little Big Horn was at number four. That would be  Mr. Custer by Larry Verne

Elvis Presley and the Jordanaires were at number three with It's Now Or Never. The song would become the King's biggest international hit of his career.

One of the most successful female recording artists of all time was at number two. Connie Francis was inching to the top spot with My Heart Has a Mind of Its Own.

And at number one was a song that gave birth to a dance craze. Chubby Checker's The Twist is also ranked number one on Billboard's all time Hot 100 list.
