CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Rivalries are the bread and butter of football and this one is no exception.
Friday marks the 50th anniversary for the Scott City Rams and the Chaffee Red Devils since Scott City started playing football in 1966.
"Every game is competitive for us, but with Chaffee, we just have that extra edge," Scott City junior quarterback Ty Wilthong said.
Both teams respective coaches said their kids were ready for the challenge.
"It's been a good rivalry," Chaffee coach Charlie Vickery said. "I think both teams look forward to it and I know the kids look forward to it."
Scott City Coach Jim May echoed his sentiments, saying he'd been a part of this rivalry on both sides and its always something to look forward to.
With Scott City trying to bounce back after a loss last week to Malden and Chaffee looking to build on their momentum after a big road win, Friday's game is shaping up to be a stellar match.
