US Sen. Claire McCaskill announces ACA funding for MO health care centers

WASHINGTON (KFVS) -

U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill announced Thursday that 26 Missouri health centers, including Gross Trails Medical Center and Southeast Missouri Health Network, will receive "expanded resources to boost primary health care services in their local communities" thanks to the Affordable Care Act.

The announcement was issued just as a new report from the Census Bureau showed that 8.8 million more Americans had health insurance in 2014 compared to 2013.

The data came from the Census Bureau’s Current Population Survey, the first conducted since the full implementation of the Affordable Care Act.

“Since the full implementation of the Affordable Care Act, millions of previously uninsured Americans have gotten quality, affordable health care—those are simply the facts,” McCaskill said.

“The resources announced today will add to the 200,000 Missourians that have already directly benefited from this law.”
