CHARLESTON, MO (KFVS) -

A Charleston man was arrested Tuesday after the execution of a search warrant at his home revealed drugs, stolen property, and gun ammo.

According to Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore, the investigation began last week when his department received information that Duramus Tyrone Coleman, 31, was stockpiling firearms, ammunition, narcotics and stolen property in an apartment in Charleston’s public housing subdivision.

During their search, Sheriff Moore and his deputies located narcotics, drug paraphernalia, several items of stolen property, and a large quantity of handgun ammunition.

At that time, Coleman was placed under arrest and transported to the Mississippi County Detention Center.

Following his arrest, Coleman participated in a videotaped interview, which strengthened the probable cause to believe he had knowingly possessed stolen property and illegal contraband.

Coleman is charged with possession of a controlled substance and receiving stolen property valued in excess of $500.

Coleman faces an additional charge for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

As a convicted felon, Coleman is prohibited by federal law from possessing ammunition, and while that investigation is ongoing, additional charges are possible.

Bond for Coleman was set at $25,000 cash only.
