Anna, IL man convicted of aggravated stalking

ANNA, IL (KFVS) -

An Anna, Illinois man has been convicted of aggravated stalking.

After a three-day trial, Chance S. Cottone, 46, was found guilty by a Union County jury on two counts of aggravated stalking.

According to Union County State's Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds, Cottone harassed his ex-girlfriend in April 2015 by repeatedly driving by her place of employment and her home and contacting her through Facebook, all in violation of an active order of protection.

Cottone was arrested in May 2015 as part of an investigation by the Anna Police Department.

Cottone remains in custody at the Jackson County Jail.

A sentencing hearing has been set for Nov. 10 at 9 a.m. before Judge Charles Cavaness at the Union County Courthouse in Jonesboro.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant State's Attorney Heather Heaslett.
