Wickliffe, KY man facing meth distribution charges

WICKLIFFE, KY (KFVS) -

A Wickliffe, Kentucky man has been charged with distribution of meth.

Christopher Ford, 48, was charged by grand jury indictment on Wednesday, Sept. 16 with five counts of distribution of methamphetamine.

Ford was arrested on Aug. 26 and initially charged in a criminal complaint with distribution of meth between March 2015 and July 2015.

The grand jury indictment alleges Ford conspired with others to distribute 500 grams or more of meth between March 1 and Aug. 26. It also alleges that Ford distributed a detectable amount of meth on four occasions including April 17, May 15, May 28 and July 7.

According to the indictment, all of the sales took place in Ballard County, Ky.

Ford remains in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service. His first appearance before a magistrate judge has not been scheduled.

If convicted at trial, Ford could be sentenced to any term from 10 years in prison, up to and including a life sentence. He could also be ordered to forfeit property, pay a fine of no less than $14 million and ordered to serve up to and including a life period of supervised release.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Seth Hancock, and is being investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Paducah Police Department, the Ballard County Sheriff's Department and the Kentucky State Police.
