Jefferson Co. MO officials investigate shooting in Arnold

Officials in Jefferson County, Mo., are investigating after a man was shot while walking through Arnold.

Sheriff Oliver Boyer says that on Tuesday September 15, 2015 at approximately 10:15 p.m., deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office were sent to the 1000 block of Westward Trails Dr. Arnold, for a reported shooting.

The victim says that he was walking in the area of Miller East Road and Westward Trails Drive in Arnold when he was approached by the man that pointed a weapon at him and demanded he hand him his wallet.

According to the victim, the shooter was distracted by a vehicle driving by allowing him to run.

The victim says that as he was running, he felt a pain to his right abdomen area.

He ran to his mother’s residence located in Westward Trails.

The victim was being personally taken to an area hospital when a deputy with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office found and stopped the vehicle the victim was being transported in, and had EMS respond and take the victim to the hospital.

He is currently being treated at an area hospital for a non-life threatening injury.

He described the shooter as a black male wearing a white mask.

The incident is believed to be isolated and the investigation is ongoing.
