Toaster may be cause of house fire in Perry Co., MO

PERRY COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

A toaster may have sparked a house fire that shut down a highway Wednesday morning in Perry County, Mo.

Hwy. M is back open after crews were called at 9:45 a.m. to 4009 Hwy. M near Brewer, according to Perryville Fire Chief Jeremy Triller.

Officials in Perry County closed down a section of Highway M to fight the fire.

The kitchen has fire damage and major smoke damage throughout the home. 

No one was home at the time of the fire.

Fire crews from Perry County Rural and St. Mary fought the fire.
