First Alert Weather Outlook:

You’ll need your jacket again this morning as you get the kiddos off to school, but by noon it will be warm enough to leave it behind and maybe have your lunch outside. Laura Wibbenmeyer's First Alert Forecast shows this afternoon will be warmer than yesterday, but not too hot to get some yard work done or head to the SEMO District Fair.

Making Headlines:

Under Investigation: An Illinois State Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate the cause of a house fire in Harrisburg that spread to two others and sent the fire chief to the hospital.

What's next: We will hopefully learn the results of an autopsy scheduled today for Joseph Thomas Johnson-Shanks. The Florissant, Mo. native was the suspect in the deadly shooting of Kentucky State Police Trooper Joseph Cameron Pardon.

Highly Contagious: Officials at Eastern Illinois University say two cases of mumps have been diagnosed on campus this month. That follows an outbreak of about 100 cases last month at the University of Illinois.

Campus Shooting: The chief suspect in the murder of of a history professor at Delta State University is dead. Dr. Shannon Lamb allegedly took his life after leading police on a chase down the highway.
