Two small earthquakes strike near Heartland

KENTUCKY (KFVS) -

Residents in western Kentucky and northeast Arkansas might have felt a small shake overnight.

Preliminary reports show a 2.3 magnitude earthquake centered eight miles north northeast of La Center, Ky. hit just after 2 a.m. on Friday. 

The first earthquake measured 1.2 miles deep and could also be felt 18 miles west northwest of Paducah, Ky.

Another earthquake centered six miles south of Manila, Ark. hit at 5:24 a.m. on Friday.

An early report from CERI at the University of Memphis measured the second quake at 2.4 magnitude and 1.2 miles deep.
