Keep the umbrella handy; hopefully clearing out for Heartland Football Friday

It is Sept. 11, 2015.

First Alert Weather Outlook:

Some of the Heartland will see rain showers this morning, but Brian’s First Alert Forecast shows it won’t be wide-spread or severe. It would be a good idea to keep an umbrella handy. And it might be the perfect night for Heartland Football Friday: dry and cool enough you’ll likely need a jacket.

Making Headlines:

Remembering the fallen: 14 years later, residents across the Heartland will ensure Americans never forget the fallen, as well as the first responders and military members who sacrificed their time and lives because of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. Events are planned to commemorate the anniversary.

Investigation underway: Police in Paducah say a woman flipped the car she was driving over a guard rail just off the Brookport Bridge near Paducah, Ky. Authorities are working to find out how that happened.

Behind bars: A McCracken County woman was arrested after detectives found out she was allegedly selling her prescription medication.

Recall alert: More than 1 million Chrysler Ram trucks have been recalled because of steering wheel and airbag issues.

What's trending:

It's back: Football season is officially underway even for Tom Brady who seemed nearly unstoppable in the NFL season opener, going 25 of 32 for 288 yards.
