West Paducah man injured in ATV accident

WEST PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

A man from West Paducah was injured Thursday in an ATV accident.

Deputies with the McCracken Co. Sheriff's Department responded to the area of 7920 Mayfield Metropolis Road for an ATV accident on Thursday at approximately 6:49 p.m.. 

On arrival, deputies located Lendon Wray, 34, of West Paducah.

An investigation showed that Wray was traveling southbound on Mayfield Metropolis Road on a 3 wheeler, when for unknown reasons he left the roadway. 

Wray struck a trash can and continued southbound through the yard, where he struck a fence corner and was ejected from the ATV. 

He was not wearing a helmet.

Wray was transported to a local hospital and then flown the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana via PHI for critical injuries. 

Mercy EMS and West McCracken Fire Department and Lent’s Towing assisted at the scene.

    A search is underway for an inmate that escaped from the Pulaski County Detention Center, in Ullin, Illinois. According to Gayla Jones, a contract liaison with the Detention Center, two inmates escaped from the facility and one has been caught.
