Annual Heritage Blues Festival planned in Cairo

CAIRO, IL (KFVS) -

The second annual Heritage Blues Festival is planned in Cairo from September 11-13. It's being presented by the Cairo Heritage Foundation.

Cairo's own "The Phonic's" band will be performing on Friday at 5 p.m. on the historic 8th Street.

A 'Red, White, and Blue' parade will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. featuring Ms. Junior Illinois, Ciara Evans. Food and more live music will follow. Bands playing include The Chris Canas Band and Lew Jetton.

There will be a gospel concert on Sunday that will feature local choirs from Missouri and Kentucky.

The festival is free of charge.

The Heritage Blues Festival is sponsored by Cairo Public Utilities, Illinois American Water, Shawnee Community College, among others.
