MO sheriff: 'Jefferson County Creeper' identified, taken into custody

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

The Jefferson County, Missouri sheriff says Crystal City police have arrested and identified a man referred to by area media as the "Jefferson County Creeper."

Sheriff Oliver "Glenn" Boyer said the 21-year-old homeless man was taken into custody after a foot chase by Crystal City officers at about 8 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3.

He said the man is suspected of committing numerous crimes in Jefferson County and Crystal City.

Sheriff Boyer said the man's identity is not being released at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.

    The person of interest in the double-murder and bank robbery in Conway on Monday is in custody. Brandon MIchael Council was arrested in Greenville, North Carolina Wednesday, along with two other people, authorities there confirmed.  Brandon Michael Council was wanted for questioning in connection with the murder of two CresCom bank employees during a bank robbery at the CresCom Bank in Conway on Monday afternoon.
