KSP increasing patrols during Labor Day weekend

KENTUCKY (KFVS) -

The national campaign Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over, runs through Labor Day weekend with the goal of reducing deaths and injuries caused by motorists driving impaired either by alcohol or drugs.

The 2015 Labor Day holiday enforcement begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 4 and continues through Monday, September 7 at 11:59 p.m.

In addition to the statewide DUI enforcement, KSP will conduct statewide traffic safety checkpoints in effort to enforce all traffic laws of the Commonwealth. Special attention will be paid to occupant protection (seat belt/child restraint usage), vehicle safety, insurance compliance and registration violations.

KSP will be partnering with local law enforcement agencies to conduct traffic safety checkpoints in the Post 2 District.

KSP utilizes traffic safety checkpoints to promote safety.
