This week in music: 1991

(KFVS) -

Let's turn back the hands of time and check out the music scene from this week in 1991.

Here are the songs topping the Billboard Hot 100.

Paula Abdul was at number five with "The Promise of a New Day." That song would later become Abdul's sixth and to this date her last number one hit.

Holding down the number four spot was the German group The Scorpions with "Wind of Change," a song about all the political changes in eastern Europe.

Lenny Kravitz was in the number three spot with "It Ain't Over Til It's Over."

At number two was "Fading Like a Flower" by the Swedish duo Roxette.

And in the top spot, "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You" by Brian Adams. You may remember that was the theme song from the Kevin Costner movie "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves." By the way Billboard ranked it as the number one song of 1991.
