DONIPHAN, MO (KFVS) -

Need some art for your home? Now's the chance to scoop up the work of a local artist.

Eileen Melton, an artist in Ripley County, is donating a large collection of wildlife and nature prints, and original paintings, 25 of which have never been released to the public.

Many of the paintings will be matted and framed. Also included in the sale is the artist's 911 tribute painting is "Red Skys in Morning."

Come to the Doniphan Community Center on September 11 and 12 to see Melton's work.

All proceeds from the sale will go to the Highway K Volunteer Fire Department. The money will be used to buy new equipment including what's called "turnout gear."

Turnout gear is used by firefighters during house and car fires. It protects them from intense heat.

They also hope to purchase SCBA equipment which allows firefighters to breath while in or near a burning home.

Melton has had art shows throughout the United States and Europe.

She and her husband Tom have been long time supporters of the volunteer fire department.

Visit www.eileenmelton.net to take a look at some of the art work that will be up for sale.

The Doniphan Community Center can be found at 105 Washington Street in Doniphan. The show will from from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 11 12.
