This week in music: 1973

(KFVS) -

Let's take a stroll down our music memory lane and head back to the first week of September in 1973.

Billboard Magazine had these songs atop the Hot 100 42 years ago.

At number five was Paul McCartney's group Wings with the theme song to the James Bond movie Live and Let Die.

Diana Ross was in the number 4 spot with Touch Me in the Morning.

Checking in at number 3 was Helen Reddy with Delta Dawn. That song was a top ten country hit for Tanya Tucker the previous year.

In the number two position was Let's Get it On. It was the hit that turned Marvin Gaye into a 1970's sex icon.

And  At number one, a song about an interracial love affair, Brother Louie by the Stories.
It would be the Stories first and only number one record.
