Campbell, MO man claims half of $1.1M jackpot

CAMPBELL, MO (KFVS) -

A Campbell, Missouri man has claimed half of a recent $1.1 million Missouri Lottery jackpot.

Bill Depew, who is retired, found out he was a winner when checking his tickets at an area store.

He said he would use the money to "pay bills."

"We're going to try and get him a new truck," said his wife, Shirley.

"I can't get it in the garage," Depew said of his current truck. "I thought we'd get a smaller truck."

He bought the winning ticket at R&P Service, Highway 84, in Hayti.

The Missouri Lottery said there were two winning tickets sold for the Aug. 15 drawing. Each winner will get half: $550,000. The first half was already claimed by a Bonne Terre, Mo. man.

The two stores selling winning jackpot tickets for the Aug. 15 drawing split the $5,000 selling bonus.
