Police arrested two people and are looking for another in connection to a July 30 shooting in Sikeston.

Orlando "TJ" Sheron, 20, of Sikeston is charged with assault first degree, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon.

Dewayne Harris, Jr. is charged with assault first degree and armed criminal action. Police are still looking for Harris.

The two are accused of being involved in a shootout on John R. Blvd. on July 30.

The Sikeston Department of Public Safety received a tip that Sheron was leaving his mother's house Friday afternoon. Officers stopped a vehicle on Main Street near Greer and recognized Sheron in the back of the car. He tried to run out of the back of the car, but officers arrested him.

He was arrested on felony warrants and also for a misdemeanor warrant through the city for failure to appear on a marijuana possession offense.

The driver, Brandon Morrell Johnson, 28, of Sikeston was arrested for hindering prosecution in Sheron's arrest warrant.

A K9 alerted officers to narcotics in the car. Police found a small amount of marijuana in plain view in Johnson's lap, a small set of digital scales and a small amount of what appeared to be cocaine on Johnson's seat.

Johnson is also accused of swallowing a small baggie of marijuana during the stop.

Johnson is charged with hindering prosecution, possession of controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.

Johnson was taken to the Scott County Jail. His bond was set at $50,000.

Police are still searching for Dewayne Harris, Jr. Anyone with information of his whereabouts is asked to call Sikeston DPS 573-471-4711 or the crimestoppers hotline at 573-471-1500. Tips can remain anonymous and tipsters could be eligible for a cash reward.
