One injured in Saline County crash

One woman is being treated for her injuries following a traffic accident Saturday morning in Saline County.

Illinois State Police said it happened just before 8:30 a.m. two miles east of Carrier Mills Road.

Troopers say Kristen Lee Day, 27, was driving westbound on Illinois route 13 in the passing lane.

Officials said her car ran off the road.

Day was able to regain control briefly, but then the car overturned in the median.

Day was thrown from the vehicle and her 17 year-old passenger suffered minor injuries.

Officials say Day was taken to a hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

According to ISP, Day was cited for Driving Too Fast for Conditions, Improper Lane Usage, and Failure to Wear a Seatbelt.

Illinois State Police District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, Harrisburg Police Department, Harrisburg Fire Department, Saline County Ambulance Service, and Bishop’s Towing.
