CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

An event at the Osage Centre in Cape Girardeau focused their attention to gathering information of services in their area for seniors on Saturday.

It's an event that not only helps senior citizens, but also seniors in high school become familiar with services in their area that cater to them.

The Osage Centre was packed with dozens of vendors and hundreds of people.

Many senior citizens flocked to the booths where they learned of different health care, home care, medicine, hair care, and many more options.

Senior citizens we talked to say they didn't know so many different services were out there that were available for them.

High school seniors mainly gathered at booths designed to help out there choices involving college and scholarships.

High school seniors say it's important for them to know what options are out there, to help them in the choices they make in life and in school, which could help create a better lifestyle for them.

At the event, cans of food were collected from drives throughout the week at various locations in the area. Their goal is to collect 10,000 cans of food.

The American Red Cross was also on hand collecting blood donations.

$500 scholarships were also awarded for high school seniors to help with college expenses.
