Du Quoin State Fair teams up with Southern Illinois Miners

DU QUOIN, IL (KFVS) -

The Du Quoin State Fair and the southern Illinois Miners are teaming up to offer southern Illinois residents a day of entertainment.

Anyone who takes in a Southern Illinois Miners game during the Du Quoin State Fair will get in to the Du Quoin State Fair for free.

To qualify for this special offer, just present your ticket stub at the gate!

“This is a great way to cross-promote two great family friendly events,” said Assistant State Fair Manager, Norm Hill. “A ticket stub to any home game played during the State Fair can be presented at the gate for free parking on the grounds.”

The Southern Illinois Miners have been in Marion for nearly ten years providing family friendly entertainment and positive roles models for youth in the community. This partnership is a win-win for families in southern Illinois.

In addition to the great offer at the Du Quoin State Fair, the Southern Illinois Miners have a special offer of their own.

“The Southern Illinois Miners are ecstatic to be partnered with the Du Quoin State Fair this year,” Jonathan Brownfield with the Southern Illinois Miners, said. “We would like to announce that anyone who brings a Grandstand ticket to a Miners game will receive free admission to one of our next games. Be sure to follow us on Facebook for game times and promotions; and enjoy the Du Quoin State Fair.”

The Southern Illinois Miners open up a home series against the Traverse City Beach Bums on August 28-30, then return home for another home stand against the Florence Freedom on September 4-6.

The Du Quoin State Fair runs August 28 - September 7 where gate admission is free.
