History comes to life at Big Oak Tree Park

EAST PRAIRIE, MO (KFVS) -

Step back in time and enjoy Living History Day at Big Oak Tree State Park on Saturday, September 12.

The free event runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Rope making, basket weaving, flint knapping, and more will be demonstrated.

The Southeast Explorer Mobile Learning Center will also be on hand.

Guests can bring a lawn chair and enjoy the sounds of bluegrass music played by "Bluegrass Revival."

Barbecue, fish sandwiches, and other refreshments will be available to purchase.

You can find Big Oak Tree State Park 15 miles south of East Prairie on Highway 102.  For more information call the Hunter-Dawson State Historic Site at 573-748-5340.
