Tay Bender named Redhawks starting quarterback

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Southeast Missouri State Sports Information Director Jeff Honza has confirmed with Heartland Sports that Junior Transfer Tay Bender will be the Redhawks starting quarterback on Saturday, September 5 at Missouri.

The move comes as no big surprise since Bender has been practicing with the first team.

Bender was a two-time All-Midwest Football Conference selection for national power Iowa Western Community College.

He was the number ranked player in Nebraska coming out of high school.
