McCracken Co. woman accused of apartment break-in

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

A McCracken County woman was arrested after she was caught allegedly leaving the scene of a break-in at the office of a Paducah apartment complex.

Patricia A. Thompson, 51, was charged with third degree burglary and possession of burglary tools.

According to the Paducah Police Department, a resident called police 12:17 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27 after seeing someone in a dark-colored "hoodie" sweatshirt break the glass door to the office of West Park Village apartments.

Officers arrived and said they saw a woman in a dark hoodie in the pool area, walking away from the office building.

One officer said he saw Thompson dropping several items outside of a fence, and found a hammer, flashlight, gloves and an envelope containing $20 cash.

Thompson was interview and police say she admitted to having broken into the office and taking the money.

Thompson was booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.
