Paducah woman injured after being hit by car in construction zone

MARSHALL COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

A Paducah woman was taken to a hospital after she was hit by a car while flagging traffic near a construction zone.

On Wednesday at approximately 3 p.m., Deputy Dennis Lewis investigated an injury crash on Old Olive Road.

A vehicle driven by Gary D. Lamb, 66, of Benton, was traveling north on Old Olive Road in a construction zone.

At the intersection of Horn Cemetery Lane, a flagger for Smith Construction attempted to stop the vehicle.

The vehicle struck the flagger.

Lamb reports that he was sick at the time and did not see that the flagger had stepped in front of him.

The flagger, Amanda Taylor, 39, of Paducah, was transported to Paducah by private vehicle for medical attention.

No charges have been filed.
