Humid and warmer today; First Alert Forecast shows temperatures to creep higher by weekend

First Alert Weather Outlook:

We’re watching for fog in this morning’s First Alert Forecast. With an uptick in humidity, there’s a good chance you’ll see fog as you head to work and school. Other than that, Brian says expect another clear and cool morning. But today will be the last day of our summer reprieve with highs in the low 80s. You can expect temperatures to creep back up by the weekend.

Making Headlines:

Early morning fire: Emergency crews in Chester, Il. are battling a fire at a structure on State Street. As of 7 a.m. the fire was contained, but firefighters haven't been able to get inside yet.

Presidential Visit: President Barack Obama is marking 10 years since Hurricane Katrina by celebrating the revival of New Orleans. He has planned visits in the area on Thursday.

Unexpected death: A 53-year-old Missouri man convicted of raping a 13-year-old girl has died in prison.The Missouri Department of Corrections does not suspect foul play at this time.

Hold back the tears: The smaller of two cubs born to the giant panda Mei Xiang has died. At birth, the smaller cub weighed 3 ounces while its twin weighed 4.8 ounces.
