Wall-to-wall sun today; First Alert Forecast shows little to no chance for rain

It is Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015.

First Alert Weather Outlook:

Another beautiful day in the Heartland. You could probably break out a light jacket for the kids at the bus stop. Brian’s First Alert Forecast shows a cool and quiet morning, that will ease into a pleasant, sunny day.

Making Headlines:

Plunging again: China's main stock market index has fallen for a fourth day, plunging 7.6 percent to an eight-month low. Elsewhere, Japan's Nikkei stock index closed 4 percent lower.

Under Investigation: Police are searching for a suspect who stole a car with a 2-year-old inside Sunday night in St. Charles County. The child was found unharmed, but the man believed to be responsible is nowhere to be found.

Underage immunity: Underage drinkers who call 911 to get medical help now have legal protection. This legislation recently signed by Gov. Rauner gives them immunity from prosecution.

What's trending:

Attack of the coons: You don't hear this one very often... A California woman says her and her husband struggled with a pack of raccoons for several seconds until a neighbor came to their rescue.
