PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

Traffic on the westbound side of Interstate 24 Ohio River Bridge was moving slowly between Paducah and Metropolis after a multi-vehicle crash.

According to Keith Todd with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the crash is in a bridge work zone.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department said deputies were dispatched to a four-vehicle crash at 5:17 p.m.

Deputies say all four vehicles had slowed due to construction on the bridge. They say traffic slowed abruptly and that caused a chain reaction crash.

According to deputies, Arlene Brewer, 69, of Metropolis, was a driving a 2005 Toyota Highlander. She hit a 2003 Chevrolet Impala driven by Dakota Little, 22, of Marion, Ill.

Little's Impala then hit a 2014 Chrysler van driven by 41-year-old Shelia Kester, of Belknap, Ill. Kester's van then hit a 2013 Chrysler 300 driven by Buffy Wright, 40, of Metropolis, Ill.

Two passengers in the Impala, 21-year-old Keely Emery and 31-year-old Mallorie Little, both of Marion, Ill., were take to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The sheriff's department was assisted at the scene by the Kentucky State Police, Illinois State Police, Concord Fire/Rescue, BA's Towing and Mercy Regional Ambulance Service.
