This week in music: 1988

(KFVS) -

Let's head back to the 1980s when Ronald Reagan was president and everyone had Pac Man fever.

These were the songs atop the Billboard Hot 100 this week in 1988.

At number five was Robert Palmer with "Simply Irresistible."

In the number four spot was Guns N Roses with "Sweet Child of Mine."

A couple of recording acts from the 1970s were still making music and still charting hits.

At number three was Chicago with "I Don't Wanna Live Without Your Love."

Elton John was holding down the number two spot with "I Don't Wanna Go With You Like That."

And in the top spot was "Monkey" by George Michael. It was Michael's fourth straight number one hit from his Album "Faith."
