First Alert Weather Outlook:

Break out the sunglasses! Brian’s First Alert Forecast shows Monday is the start of sunny week, without all the humidity August usually brings. However, you might want a jacket at the bus stop since temperatures will range from the high 50s to the low 60s across the Heartland.

Making Headlines:

Behind bars: A man is in custody for allegedly shooting a Louisiana State Trooper in the head during a traffic stop on Sunday. Trooper Steven Vincent is in critical condition.

Search for answers: A body of an adult male was spotted floating in the Meramec River in the St. Louis area. An autopsy will determine how the man died.

Under investigation: Authorities are still working to gather information after an argument turned deadly at Wickliffe Park. Sunday afternoon police discovered an altercation had occurred between a man and his ex-wife’s current husband.

Raceway disaster: IndyCar driver Justin Wilson is in a coma in critical condition after sustaining a head injury during an incident at Pocono Raceway. Wilson was hit by a large piece of debris that broke off another car.
