SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reports that a Sikeston man has been arrested for domestic assault and weapons violation.

Sheriff Walter states that on Saturday, the Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic assault at 286 Estate Drive, outside of Sikeston.

Deputies spoke with the victim who stated she had been in an argument with her boyfriend, Justin B. Rapert, 31, who then assaulted her.

The victim stated during the argument Rapert picked up their daughter.

While holding their daughter, Rapert struck the victim in the arm and shoved her into the wall.

He then put the juvenile down at that time.

Rapert grabbed the victim by her neck and began choking her until she could not breathe and forced the victim to the floor.

He then reportedly started kicking and hitting her again.

Rapert picked the victim up and shoved her head in the wall again.

He then left and came back in the living room with a BB gun.

He pointed it at the victim and told her he would shoot her in the head.

The victim was able to call the Sheriff’s Office at this time, and Rapert walked into the garage.

The victim had multiple scratches and marks on her back, chest, and legs. She had marks around her neck also.

Rapert has been charged with domestic assault and felony unlawful use of a weapon.

He was placed under arrest and transported to the Scott County jail where he was booked pending the filing of formal chargers by the Scott County Prosecuting Attorney.

Bond was set by the court at $5,000 cash only, and no contact with the victim.
