3-year-old's near drowning prompts mother to urge for CPR classes

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

A recent near drowning of a 3-year-old girl in Cape Girardeau County prompts a mother's plea for local parents to receive a free CPR certification class.

The Gordonville Fire and Protection District has stepped forward to host a CPR course Saturday, Aug. 29.

It's at their fire station from 1-5 p.m.

It's free, but you do need to pre-register.

Contact the fire department at GFPDCPR@gmail.com to get your name on the list.

The child's mother and mother's friend were able to immediately administer CPR to save the girl's life.

The Gordonville Fire and Protection District has requested all parents to seriously consider attending this critical training.
