Carbondale man sentenced to prison for theft

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

A Carbondale man was sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to theft charges.

According to the Jackson County State's Attorney, 43-year-old Marcus Perisee, was sentenced for one count of theft in connection to an incident that took place at a Carbondale business on Sept. 20, 2014.

On Sept. 22, 2014, the business owner returned to the building to find it had been broken into and property was missing.

The business owner located some of his property at a resale shop in Murphysboro.

The state's attorney reports investigations showed Perisee had sold the property to the resale shop. Video surveillance captured inside the store showed Perisee making the transaction.

On Nov. 19, 2014, the state's attorney charged Perisee with one county of theft as a Class 3 Felony and one count of theft as a class 4 felony. 

Perisee pleaded guilty to the class 3 felony, and was sentenced to an extended term of imprisonment for six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by one year of parole.
