Graves County man crashes car, charged with drug offenses

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

A Graves County man is facing drug charges and several other offenses after crashing his car on US 45 in Wingo on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Graves County Sheriff's Office, 21-year-old Cody Jackson was driving north on US 45 when he dropped off the right shoulder of the road, causing his tire to blow out.

At that point, Jackson lost control of his vehicle and crossed into the southbound lane. He then ran off into a yard in the 8800 block of US 45, and he hit a tree in the process.

The sheriff's office reports Jackson was not wearing a seat belt at the time and suffered injuries to his face.

Jackson was taken to a local hospital.

After the collision, Jackson was given a ticket for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and DUI second offense with aggravating circumstance.

The sheriff's office reports Jackson refused to submit to a blood test that law enforcement requested.

Graves County deputies are still investigating the incident.
