Big blow: A gas line exploded at a high school in New York City, injuring three construction workers, one of them critically. The blast heavily damaged three floors of the building.

Warmest ever: July 2015 set a record for being the hottest month worldwide ever recorded.

Split 19 ways: A $1 million Powerball prize will be split 19 ways after a group of workers at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis shared a winning ticket for the Aug. 12 drawing.
