KENNETT, MO (KFVS) -

A Kennett, Missouri police officer rescued a tiny puppy.

Corporal Alan Campbell stopped traffic at the corner of Fifth Street and South Anthony to prevent the puppy from being run over.

The Kennett Humane Department posted on their Facebook page that this is a very busy intersection. They say Kennett police officers write numerous citations for animal safety violations, and rescues are just as common.

The department thanked Cpl. Campbell and Kennett police for making a difference in the lives of animals.
