PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

Two McCracken County men have been arrested, charged with fraudulently using a credit card belonging to an elderly Paducah woman.

Police say Eric R. Jeffers, 25, entered the home of an 88-year-old woman on South 21st Street on August 9, under the guise of wanting to purchase the house.

While inside, he stole the woman’s purse, which contained cash, a credit card and the woman’s wedding ring.

Willenborg proved Jeffers and Jerald Burton, 42, also of Paducah, used the credit card to order Nike shoes valued at more than $500 and to purchase more than $40 worth of food from a vending machine at their place of employment.

Willenborg located Jeffers and Burton, and interviewed both at the Paducah Police Department.

Jeffers faces charges of felony theft by unlawful taking and fraudulent use of a credit card.

Burton also faces charges of fraudulent use of a credit card.

Both men were booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
