Direct deposit issue causes delay in pay for Jackson city employees

JACKSON, MO (KFVS) -

Dozens of city employees in Jackson, Missouri were supposed to be paid on Wednesday, Aug. 19, but a snafu left bank accounts empty.

According to City Administrator Jim Roach, there was an issue with the usual direct deposits.

The city is offering paper checks on Wednesday or direct deposit on Thursday.

It was still inconvenient for some police officers, firefighters and other city employees, especially if they had they had automatic bill paying scheduled.

The city said it plans to reimburse employees who may get overdraft fees as a result.
